Falaschetti serves the United States Department of the Treasury as Director for the Office of Financial Research (OFR). Before his Treasury appointment, Dr. Falaschetti served as Chief Economist for the House Financial Services Committee where he advised prominent members of Congress and led policy teams to achieve legislative priorities, including fundamentals-based approaches to monetary policy and financial regulation.
Dr. Falaschetti also served the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, where he advised Council members on issues involving finance, economic development, and retirement security, delivered a policy address from the White House podium, and edited speeches for the President and cabinet members.
As a litigation consultant, Dr. Falaschetti delivered expert testimony on headline issues at the intersection of corporate governance, accounting, and finance. As an executive decision-maker, he strengthened investor relations and bottom-line performance. His career started by quickly rising from Fortune 100 intern to C-Suite accountability for currency and interest rate hedges, business valuations, and a $1 billion money market portfolio.
Dr. Falaschetti consistently delivers sound solutions to new challenges by leveraging leadership capital with deep insights from the highest levels of business decision-making and execution, policy development, and an award-winning research program in economics, law, and finance.
He earned a PhD under a Nobel Laureate from Washington University in St. Louis, an MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and a BS with distinction from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
